This picture is of me under Louisa’s desk. Louisa has gone to make a cup of tea so I thought I’d take this opportunity to update you on a brand new dog detective mystery.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been out of action for a while. You see my owner, Louisa, has been spending all her time on writing thrillers (which she does as L.A. Larkin) and without her fingers tapping away on the keyboard it’s not possible for us to produce a book. I have the ideas and Louisa writes them down. It’s a simple but effective partnership. Luckily she learned to speak dog and I can speak some hooman, so we muddle through. But, recently, Louisa has been feverishly working on a new dog detective novel and we’re both very excited. In it Rose Sidebottom is in a terrible pickle. I won’t reveal why, but she’s forced to leave the police force. Oh no! So Rose sets up a new PI business with Monty (that’s me!), the canine super sleuth. Rose and Monty are soon chasing their tails as they try to solve the murder of a young woman found in Hinchley Wood and discover who is behind the theft of three dogs from the vet hospital. It’s a pawtastic mystery.
I’ll keep you posted on our progress through this blog, and also Twitter and Facebook, and, of course, through wee-mails on street corners, lamp posts and post boxes. Let your dogs know a new book is coming soon. They’re sure to want to read it too.
