Join Writers With Dogs here.
Writers often spend a lot of time alone and the companionship of a dog means so much to us. I have a recently lost my Golden Retriever, Pickles, who, from the day he arrived at our house at eight-weeks-old, has been at my side. He was my joy and inspiration. He would listen sagely if I read out my manuscript and nudge me when it was time for me to take a break. He always sat on his dog bed next to my desk, which meant I was never alone. Now he has passed away, there is a massive hole in my life. I realise now that he was more than a dog I loved dearly, he also kept me going. He and I created a working routine, which included getting me out of the house on long walks. My motivator isn’t there any more.
This got me thinking about the role dogs play in writers’ lives and the companionship they give us.
Therefore, I have set up a new private Facebook group called WRITERS WITH DOGS with three other authors, and if you are a writer with a dog, I’d love you to join our group.
This is a safe and fun place for writers to share their doggie photos and to celebrate dogs as our loving companions. Authors, journalists, copywriters, bloggers – anyone who writes for pleasure or for a living and has a dog – welcome! Just click here to join WRITERS WITH DOGS.
I should add that this group is not about book or business promotions.
